What We Played This Week – 11/10/09
Written October 11, 2009
There’s been some four player co-op action, and Mark has finally bowed to the pressure of getting a headset to call people noobs with. What have we been playing this week?
What Matt’s Been Playing:
After finally resolving some network issues with friends of ours, we managed to get a four player Firefight going in Halo 3: ODST. Bouyed by our success, we then went after the Iron Skull Vidmaster Challenge achievement. 900 checkpoint resets later, we decided maybe we were getting ambitious.
Apart from that, I got my hands on Scribblenauts for an afternoon, which was great fun for all the wrong reasons. The menu screen is more fun than half the challenges, if you ask me, but still a great creative endeavour. I immediately saw what all the reviewers were saying about the controls, however. Clunky as hell.
What Mark’s Been Playing:
A biggish week!
Playing absolutely boatloads of Wii Sports; it’s suprisingly fun to play, especially tennis. Been getting quite zen with it all.
Also, you normally play Wii tennis with you being the two players on one side of the court. You can, of course, change this. What is fun is being player on both sides, but what really gets kicking is when you are all four players! That’s fucking zen; you both win, lose and draw, and you have to struggle to beat yourself (keep your smutty mind to yourself, Matty…)
Playing ODST with Matt, Mike and Bindy was wizard fun. So I went out and bought myself a mic/headset so I can, in future, yell abuse down the line to whomever runs me over with their ghost (which may have been 200 of the 900 checkpoint resets…)
